Dzogchen Monastery is hosting an intensive period of practice for international students in preparation for the 10th Annual Dzogchen Retreat.
The practices, specially chosen by Dzogchen Rinpoche’s wisdom, build the foundation within us to hold and maintain the teachings.
Spiritual practice is the antidote for obstacles and through the accumulation of prayers and mantra we can develop the capacity to receive and understand the ancient precious Dzogchen teachings.

10th Annual Dzogchen Retreat
Abhisamayalankara: The Ornament of Manifest Realisation
3rd to 12th January 2011
Studying Buddhist philosophy with an authentic master brings deeper contemplation which generates inspiration for meditation. Through this, we can experience inner confidence and genuine benefit for ourselves and others.
This is the essence of the Abhisamayalankara, one of the five treatises of Buddha Maitreya, revealed to great practitioner Asanga in the fourth century.
In this retreat, acclaimed Buddhist master and scholar Dzogchen Rinpoche, who obtained a Masters of Buddhist Philosophy [Rabjampa] at only 19 years of age, will combine philosophical and practical wisdom, explaining how to understand the eight chapters of the Abhisamayalankara. Following and integrating these teachings leads us to be free from fear and doubt.

Three-Month Dzogchen Khandro Nyingthig Retreat
Dzogchen Monastery Retreat Centre
25th Jan to 25th April 2011
Inspired by participating in a traditional retreat, many students have requested the continuation of the Three-Month Dzogchen Khandro Nyingthig Retreat. Dzogchen Monastery is pleased to announce that the retreat will be held in the Dzogchen Monastery Drubdra [retreat centre] — a traditional and authentic retreat environment, blessed by many great meditation masters and the prayers of practitioners that have accomplished three, six and 12-years retreats.
His Eminence the 7th Dzogchen Rinpoche, Jigme Losel Wangpo, will personally guide retreatants through their accumulation of the preliminary practices of the common ngöndro Thar Lam Karpo [The White Path of Emancipation] from the Dzogchen Khandro Nyingthig. Dzogchen Rinpoche is holder of this extraordinary unbroken lineage, whose wisdom teachings have been passed down from master to disciple for the past four centuries.
Receiving direct teachings from Dzogchen Rinpoche and performing accumulations is a precious opportunity — an excellent preparation for the introduction to nature of mind. All sentient beings will benefit from the immense merit accumulated during this significant retreat.
